The new iPad ad that Apple posted on both their website and their youtube channel finds a clever way to sneak in a reference to their latest software release, OSX 1O.7, Lion.
One of the segments of the new add shows a child writing the word “lion” on an iPad 2. The Lion could definitely be seen as just a coincidence, but given Apple’s notoriously tight control of every aspect of their products, it’s far more likely that the reference was intentional. The recent success of both the iPad and OSX Lion definitely put apple in a good postition. There earnings call reports over 9 million iPad sales in the last quarter, and over 1 million copies of Lion were purchased in the first 24 hours. So in my opinion, it’s safe to say that Apple intentionally hid a reference to one of their great products inside an advertisement for another. Check out the ad below and decide for yourself.
